There is definitely something to be said about being alone. Not alone in the sense of isolating yourself for long periods at a time or abstaining from human interaction or relationships. The type of alone where you’re fully aware in your action of removing yourself from a hectic reality for a bit and allowing yourself to come to your senses again. Without anyone there in your presence to sway your vision or in your ear to influence your thoughts, you’re left with yourself. That’s what I love. I prioritize my alone time and you should too. Truly taking time for yourself to collect and reflect is incredibly beneficial for your body, mind, and soul.
Sometimes life can drain and exhaust us, no matter what it is that’s been consuming our time. Recently, I have been making alone time a part of my everyday routine. Whether it’s sitting by myself outside, going on a solo lunch date, or simply laying in bed with a journal, it has undoubtedly worked wonders for me in various aspects. I feel more at peace with myself and the people in my life. Being able to become more in touch with myself has allowed me to become more in touch with the people around me. Having this time to actually think to myself has also made me more mindful of how I want to spend the rest my time and has made me more appreciative with the time I do spend with people. It has made me a more observant person. I can think more before I speak therefore my words are more intentional. Not only has it benefited my relationship with others but more so my relationship with myself. I have learned to enjoy my own company and appreciate myself more than I ever have.
I truly believe when you prioritize yourself you can become a happier and more successful person. It’s easy to lose focus of your own visions when constantly being surrounded by other voices. This tiny tweak to your daily schedule can drastically improve your quality of life and overall wellbeing.
