7 Reasons Why Prince Philip Is Your Least Favorite Character In 'The Crown'
Netflix

Just like most Netflix users, I am currently binging The Crown. My roommate raved about how great this series was, so out of curiosity, I had to try it. And I LOVE it!

Now granted that I have only actually finished the first season, I know that I don't have all the details because I am not up-to-date yet. However, I can tell you that I have already established my most and least favorite characters. My feelings might change after I binge the second season of the show, but as for right now my viewing pleasure is biased.

My favorite character has to be the Queen herself. It's hard not to fall in love with her and sympathize with her every step of the way. I could go on and on about why I like her, but if you watch the show, you'll understand.

However, my least favorite character of this show is none other than her husband, Prince Philip. Before committing to this, I had my own personal thoughts about the couple's relationship. I had always thought that their relationship was sweet and full of love at all times. This show states differently.

I understand that marriages are hard work and that everything is not always going to be perfect, but I felt that he causes several problems rather than working with her as a team.

So, here are some of my reasons for disliking Prince Philip:

1. He is childish

It takes two to tango, but he never wants to put in the work. Any time that he doesn't get his way, he just leaves or throws a huge tantrum. Instead of working things out like an adult, he sulks and pouts and acts like a juvenile.

2. He is selfish.

He was so accustomed to being the center of attention during their courtship and the early years of their married life that he has forgotten how to be happy without it. He had a stellar Naval career, which is great, but he doesn't know how to live without it. Everything is always about him.

3. He's a drunk.

During this show, you always see the Queen at some important event, and whenever Philip is present, he's always chugging a glass. She waits up for him every night while he stumbles into the house, not even acknowledging her.

4. He is rude.

Elizabeth can't even ask for advice from him or consult him about matters without him giving her a snide remark.

5. He is so jealous.

He gets his knickers in a twist when she gets a private line to Porchy to discuss business about her beloved horses. He also is so jealous that everything revolves around her. I mean come on dude, she is the fricking Queen of England!

6. He knew this was coming.

He knew from the moment that he met her that one day she would have to step up and become the Queen. He knew that one day she would take the spotlight over him. He knew all of this, and yet he makes a huge deal out of all of it.

7. He is not compassionate.

I can imagine being the Queen is not an easy job. I would imagine that you would need a very loving, supportive partner in order to get through the day. And that is not what the Prince is. He doesn't ever show her the love and support she deserves.

Overall, the Prince is a mess. He has lost his career, his freedom, and he feels as if he is losing his wife. I get it man, but instead of throwing fits and causing more chaos in the Queen's life, just try to be loving and supportive of her.

Hopefully, my view of him will change as I start season two. If not, oh well. Good luck, dear Prince Philip.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
