My first Amazon purchase was on April 7, 2012 and it was a pair of Costa sunglasses. My second purchase was October 8, 2012 so I obviously didn't order something for a few months. I would have never guessed that five years later, I would have an addiction to Amazon and have to hold myself back from ordering something every day or every other day.

It all started my freshman year of college when I lived in a town that didn't have too many stores. I saw everybody else ordering things online, so I didn't see a reason why I couldn't do the same thing.

It was little things that I would look online for because it seemed easier to order it rather than search for around town. I would wait a few days to get it, get very annoyed in the waiting period, but I still enjoyed it. As I just said, I just ordered small things on occasion. It wasn't until my close friend told me about Amazon Prime, and this is when all of the doors opened for me. Especially because there was a student discount involved... it's hard to turn down anything when there is a student discount involved.

It seems like yesterday that I was in my dorm room and logged into Amazon and made myself a Prime member; I had never been so excited about something that had to do with online shopping. Day by day, I realized how much you could get from Amazon and how quickly you received it. There would be no more waiting for a package and constantly checking my emails, I knew that I would get that package in two days. There were some days where I picked the longer shipping options, that just depended on my mood.

My phone would light up with a email notification, and I would check it immediately. The email would say something along the lines of "your package has been delivered," and my face would light up. Soon enough, the people in the mail room had memorized my name and knew that every time I came in to pick a package up, they would be searching for some kind of Amazon box. Opening that package, even if there wasn't something too exciting in it, would be the highlight of my day.

Ordering off of Amazon got even more addictive when I would be back home over break because I didn't have to wait for a delivery email. The packages would now be delivered straight to my front door and I could even thank the person that dropped them off. There was one time where I had ordered a little too much, and the packages had to be delivered by using a hand truck.

Applying for an Amazon Prime credit card was a risky move, but I did it anyway. Sometimes I want to cut the card up so I will stop using it, it's silly to do that though because the card is saved to my Amazon account. My Amazon account started as a place where I could order things I had a hard time finding in stores, and it has now turned into an account where I order anything I need to, even if I can see it right in front of me.

Just a few years ago, it would have never passed through my mind that I would live off this website and log onto it multiple times per day. Shopping on Amazon would become a lifestyle of mine and as a matter of fact, I have a tab open right now looking at the current most popular items.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
