It is that time of year again. It is time to break-out the fun hair, put on some short shorts and go all out with your make-up. Yep you know what I am talking about, it's PrideFest 2018, Milwaukee Style.

The first time that I ever went to PrideFest was bad in the summer of 2017. I was nervous to go but once I was there I did not want to leave. PrideFest to me feels like one big extended family and somehow you just feel so comfortable there. People are fun to be around, there is dancing, drag shows, and many other performances on different stages. The best part is the fact that the trolly that goes above the SummerFest ground runs during the festival and you are able to people watch from a whole new level (pun intended)

This year many reports are saying that during this weekend will be the biggest in PrideFest herstory (If you did not get that reference from Ru-Paul's Drag Race, I pity you, just kidding). Anyways, they are expecting a total of 40,000 people to be attending this event. That is crazy from last year where it was around half of that. Milwaukee knows how to put on a good show, and they are ready to live it up this weekend.

Pride Fest always starts off with the Pride Parade and then it ends usually with fireworks and a major performance. This year the B-52's will be doing the closing of Pride Fest 2018. It seems to me that the planners behind Pride Fest have gone above and beyond and wanted to make sure that this year is the one for the record books. Now people might say that Chicago Pride or San Francisco Pride is better. Well here is my opinion, I am not going to drive or fly to those places. I am here in Milwaukee and I am going to enjoy what the city is offering.

The one thing that I feel I need to point out to anyone who is thinking about going is to be ready for some protestors but also be ready for an awesome experience. As soon as you enter those gates, you are in a different world. It is like a "gay heaven" and you do not know where to turn. Also be prepared to see a lot of people making about by the lakeshore, especially when it gets dark outside. Also don't be afraid to flirt with some people in the process of being there. I feel that it is all about the fun and experience.

So my suggestion: Go there with and open heart and mind and be prepared to see things that you have never seen before.....I hope to catch you there at Pride Fest 2018.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
