I have been a fan of the Teen Mystery Drama Series, Pretty Little Liars , since its debut on ABC Family (now Freeform) on June 8, 2010. Like many others, I am always left on the edge of my seat or thinking of new theories after every new episode. Saying goodbye is going to be so hard.
This series centers around 5 pretty girls- Alison, Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily-who are also very good at telling lies and keeping secrets. These 5 best friends have been through so much since they became friends back in their middle school days, now as 23-year-olds - they have someone a lot meaner than A torturing them with their darkest secrets. A.D., the new villain, leaves no stone unturned as the series is coming to a close.
Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer Hastings, made her
directorial debut this Summer while directing Season 7 Episode 15. That episode
is set to premiere in Spring of 2017 when an old character comes back to Rosewood - one very handsome guy that has a past with Spencer.
Pretty Little Liars is known for leaving unanswered questions and more
questions every show since the beginning. Those questions will all be answered
in the last 10 episodes set to start in April 2017. Also, the 7A Summer Finale brought some answers into the light and even more cliffhangers. An interview, via
Facebook Live, August 29, 2016, included the show runner and creator I. Marlene King, the main
actresses Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Sasha
Pieterse. They announced that the show will end after the conclusion of Season 7 in
2017. Lucy Hale confirmed that all our long await answers including who A.D. is
will be answered before the series takes a final bow. The series finale
is 2-hours long, which basically makes it a movie. That is the only type movie in the works for
Pretty Little Liars. So, all the rumors of a movie or spin-off series have been answered with, "that this is really the end."
After the Facebook live chat, the day wouldn't be compete without cast pictures. Both pictures from the interview and major throwbacks that give all the feels, flooded my Instagram and Facebook feeds on Monday, August 29, 2016.
Shay Mitchell, who portrays Emily Fields, took to Instagram (@shaym) to share how much she loves being a part of this amazing cast and family.
Keegan Allen, who portrays Toby Cavanaugh, posted a heartfelt major throwback of the Season 1 cast on his Instagram (@keeoone).
Many more cast members posted bittersweet goodbyes to the series and my emotions just can't handle it. Their chemistry on-screen is so real and genuine because they are a tight group off-screen. That is what makes this series, one of my all-time favorites.
After reading all 16 books by Sara Shepard and never missing an episode of the television series, I will miss this show so much.
