President Obama Got A Twitter And It's Relatively Normal

Ladies and gentlemen, our 44th president now has a Twitter account! This is not a drill! Six years after taking office and nine years since the beginning of Twitter, our president has joined the rest of the world on social media. Turns out his office decided it's time they let him live a little. So on behalf of all of America on Twitter, welcome Mr. President, to one of the most addictive apps you will ever encounter.

Barack's first tweet was his announcement to the world that he had joined the rest of us. He even added "Really!" to his tweet so that we would all believe him. Not very convincing, but that blue check next to his name sure is.

Following the introductory tweet was a typical politician's tweet about presidential stuff. Doing good, serving the people -- basically, what we assume he does all day. Commander-in-Chief, running the nation, loving Michelle --typical Barack stuff.

Then, his third tweet, and final tweet was a joke to President Clinton. Turns out the old guys on the hill do have a sense of humor (kind of). Of course, Bill was hinting at the fact his wife would be president. Barack, asks him how he feels about the First Lady's Twitter handle. I couldn't tell if he was being passive aggressive or funny. I'll take it as an attempt at humor.

It's not civilian job, like Prince Harry, but it's nice to see President Barack Obama is a pretty normal guy, joining the world of the common people and thirteen year old girls' tumblr rip offs.

Once again, welcome Mr. President. May you enjoy watching videos of cute puppies, reading news reports around the world, and keeping up with what your friends are doing on the weekend. We can only hope your Twitter remains as human as your first three tweets were, but let's be honest -- a politician's Twitter is all politics.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
