Be Praying For Everywhere Affected By Irma, Not Just Florida
Daily Beast

August 30, 2017, the largest storm recorded in history was discovered forming in the Atlantic Ocean. A Cat 5 storm that would be catastrophic would hit land and be deadly. Hurricane Irma was the worst storm to hit in years, destroying parts of Cuba and the Bahamas. We don't really see a lot of coverage for these parts of the world, just Florida. Even other states affected by Irma didn't get as much coverage.

In 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit and completely demolished the coast of Mississippi but in the end New Orleans, Louisiana got the most help and coverage. To this day we are still rebuilding our towns from the tragedy. South Carolina, Georgia, and many more states were affected by Irma, but no one wants to talk about it because they aren't the biggest states. I wasn't old enough to remember much of Katrina, but growing up and hearing the stories of how it left us so devastated, I knew that when Irma hit, it was only gonna turn into another Katrina.

This article isn't to say that Florida doesn't deserve our help and prayers, it's saying there are others that need our help too. Texas needs our help recovering from Harvey, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, even Cuba need our help and support. Hebrews 13:16 reads, "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God." God tells us to help our neighbors and to be kind.

To everyone affected by the recent tragedies, hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, we hear you and we are praying for you. You are not a forgotten cause, we are doing what we can to get to you. Let go and let God.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
