18 Prayers For Our New Mr. President
Mark Nozell

I have been praying for you, and the job that is before you, for a significant amount of time. I prayed these prayers having no idea who you would be, but God heard them knowing it would be you, Mr. President.

I pray you will realize how heavy of a burden has just been placed on your shoulders, and how big of a position the American people have voted you into. I pray you will realize that the American people put their confidence in you and that you will bring the change you have promised.

I pray you will remember that while a lot of people now answer to you, that you should still answer to and serve a much higher power. I pray that you will pray for guidance, strength and wisdom often during these next very important years, and that you will make no decisions for this country without consulting with God first.

I pray for your temperament, visions, decisions and morals. I pray you will see all those that every decision you make from here on out will effect. I pray you begin to put yourself second, and this country first. I pray for your intentions for the betterment of this country, and that you do bring change, but that you bring it without inflicting pain on the people who love and inhabit this country.

I pray for your love for the American people, the red, white and blue, and everything this country stands for. I pray you never forget that this country and its people are who you serve, and who your loyalty stands with. I pray that every plan of action is made with nothing but good intentions and love for both.

I pray for your safety and well-being. I pray that you can mend the divide and break the barriers between the American people. I also pray that you can build the bridges and fill the gaps to ensure the trust and faith in you needed by those who right now do not trust you or have faith in you. I pray that you see the importance of us coming together as a country.

I pray you bring hope, unity and love back to this country, and that you will shut out and fight against despair, separation, fear and hate.

I pray you realize the high power you have been trusted to hold, and that you use that power for the ultimate good.

I pray that you can “Make America Great Again,” Mr. President.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
