We all have those days. You wake up on the wrong side of the bed and everything else seems to follow suit. You're late to class, you get a bad grade on a test, and then you get in a fight with your friend. The whole day seems to go down the drain and you can't seem to get out of your bad mood. It's natural. It's human nature. But at the same time, you can't, and more than likely won't stay that way forever. It is important to realize that even though you had a bad day, you will get past it and it all starts with the way your perspective on the world.

Everyone goes through life with their own unique perspective. Some people preach positivity and happiness and make it an active part of their daily lives while others simply couldn't care less and just roll on through life, feeling out the world day by day. No matter how you look at it though, it is important to realize that the way you think is going to shape your entire day.

A positive mindset can be the key to have a great day and this is something that a lot of people don't realize. Many people start their day off on the wrong foot and don't realize that this can really have a profound impact on the rest of their day. This took me a while to understand, especially being in college, but now when I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is find something that makes me happy. Whether that is texting a friend or watching something mindless on Facebook, I feel like I am setting myself up to have a good day. The small things really do make the biggest difference so whatever puts you in a good mood, utilize it in order to put your mind in a good place. Mental health is something that is largely overlooked and by putting emphasis on the happy things in your life, you will go through your days feeling much better.

There are a lot of things in life that we cannot control. We can't control what we see on the news and we can't control the actions of other people, but this doesn't mean we aren't in control. We are in control of how we act and how we think and see the world. It doesn't matter that someone else is feeling negative about something because you don't have to feel that way. People may try to push their negative thoughts and actions on you but its something you have to learn to avoid. Positive thinking has the power to make us feel good and hopeful even in the worst of times where they may not be any reason to feel that way. If you live every day with a positive mindset, you will eventually come to realize that you are living your life in a more fulfilling and overall more positive way.

Positive thinking plays such a powerful role in our day to day lives and once you figure out how to utilize it correctly, you can lead a much happier and more fulfilling life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
