Things change when we do. Often in our Christian walk there are certain postures that are crucial to how we live and serve God. The definition of posture is basically our attitude. Attitude is a "settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior." There are three attitudes or postures that I would relate to how we live and serve God. They are a servant posture, a worship posture and a thanksgiving posture.

The servant posture is one of respectable fear of the Lord. It is a posture that recognizes that God is our Father, and when we desire to please Him, we must have faith and always obey. God often states in His word that obedience is better than sacrifice. Obedience displays our servant posture. It reveals that we are not only God's chosen but that we are here to serve and please Him.

The worship posture is one of complete awe of God. It is a posture that recognizes God's preeminence and omnipresence. We see God as He is. Greater than we are and all powerful. Our worship posture is a lifestyle that breeds from the servant posture. Because if we are not worshipping God always than we cannot serve Him. Worship is about knowing God, and when we don't know God, we cannot worship Him. Our worship posture is one that knows the love of God and desires to live in out in servanthood.

The thanksgiving posture comes during all the other postures. We give thanks in all aspects of our lives good or bad. We give thanks while we worship and while we serve. The thanksgiving posture recognizes that we are who we are because of God. It focuses on how we are constantly being molded and shaped by our omnipresent God.

Now that we know these three postures of how we live and serve God. I would urge you sons and daughters to learn about these postures in the word of God and learn to live them out. All of this is an application. Our Christian walk is about applying what the word of God states and living it out. When we are doing that God gets the glory He so rightly deserves.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
