During quarantine, I have spent lots of time on Pinterest pinning recipes. After making about 10 banana breads, I decided to branch out and try something new.
When I got searching on Pinterest, my goal was to find something that would be easy to make, and cure my cravings without causing guilt. That's when I discovered energy balls. I had heard of them before, but I never actually got the chance to make them. They consist of only a few ingredients and are delicious.
Energy balls are basically a no-bake oatmeal snack. There are lots of different variations of them, allowing you to customize them however you want.

I based mine on the recipe I saw on Pinterest, and modified it to make them more protein-packed. I used 1.5 cups of quick oats, 1/2 cup of natural peanut butter, 1/4 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. After refrigerating for 30 minutes, I shaped them into balls and... voila!
I like these because they can be stored in the fridge for a while and are good for a quick snack. They also have just the right amount of sweetness that I crave, without being too unhealthy. I like to have one or two after a workout for a little protein boost.
If you have oats sitting around in your pantry like me, I recommend that you try these!
