You just walked the graduation walk and did all the senior talk. It's exciting, thrilling, and relieving to realize that your hard work has come to fruition and that piece of paper is now hung on the wall to remind you of your great accomplishments. You definitely deserve to party, but probably have some anxiety in the back of your mind about starting a new job, or still stressing to look for one.
Thus, here are some thoughts I personally had and you all might relate to:
1. For the first time in your life, school isn't your duty.
Unless you are planning to attend a University again to complete a Master's Degree in the following semester, then the realization that you don't have to go to school anymore after attending Grade 1-College Grad is pretty liberating. As students, this was one of our main life goal and duty— to attend school year after year and learn. But it's done, you're done, and that's pretty wild to think about.
2. You want to make a statement at your Graduation walk.
Everyone is here to celebrate you and your fellow classmates' accomplishments, so give them a hell of a show.
3. You feel older and wiser. You also talk like Yoda for a few weeks post-grad.
Your younger cousins/siblings/friends are probably very annoyed with you atm.
4. If you have job opportunities lined up, be humble.
A big congratulations because you definitely deserve it, but help your fellow friends on how to acquire one as well. Help them with their resumes!!!
5. If you don't have job ops lined up, don't feel down.
First of all, you deserve a little break. Second of all, don't settle for any job when you just completed a college education to get one that will keep you moving on the path to enlightenment. Third of all, you will be okay and you will figure it out.
6. You're probably going back to live with your parents, more than likely.
This was my #1 thought all through senior year. You definitely can't come home at three in the morning anymore after a night out expecting to continue partying. That, I will miss.
7. The accomplishing feeling of having a degree to credit your smarts.
Congratulations mate, you deserve to feel proud.
8. You won't admit it out loud, but you miss school already.
Is this just me? I kind of want to rewind and do it all again.
9. The feeling of changing your resume from "currently enrolled" to "graduated" and acquired that degree.
Let everyone know what you've accomplished.
10. You feel very happy but a little tiny bit nostalgic.
Four years just flew by, where did the time go? Just yesterday you applied for the Uni.
