If you are at all familiar with my articles you know that my two main topics are sports and activism.
As much as sports is important to me there is a reason why I love to do politically informative articles: educating people and hearing new perspectives. By writing these articles and having my friends comment on them, or even provide their on thoughts, I can foster a conversation about a topic.
And in most cases people creating conversation is how solutions are born. Political articles DO NOT have to be polarizing. If people are willing to have an open mind and even constructively disagree with the writer, than they have created something invaluable.
Often the biggest issue our political schism runs into are uneducated voters. By creating conversation you make it easier for people to question what they hear on mainstream media and do their one research. Whether you are a democrat or republican, abiding to just one news source doesn't do anyone any good. And political activism and articles that promote political conversation can motivate people to just that. Especially in the midst of this new Iran conflict. Encouraging people to consider all the facts instead of jumping to conclusions can be more important than ever. Political activism is very important and getting people involved that otherwise haven't cast a ballot in their life.
Ultimately it is our job to constantly promote discussion through activism. By doing so you motivate local policy makers to make difference. Sure one person won't make a difference, but if that one person influences another and that individual creates that discussion with a different person; you can potentially create something important.
So if you are reading this and have been deterred from creating politically based articles, go out there and write your heart out, because there is at-least one person there who is willing to start that conversation with you.
