Pointers From Disney Princesses

Never underestimate a princess.

Pointers From Disney Princesses

We grew up with them. We watched their movies on loop. We aspired to be them. Childhood wouldn't have been the same without them. Disney Princesses were our idols.

Just because we may not be five years old anymore and it's probably no longer socially acceptable to dress up like them and walk into the grocery store, doesn't mean we can't still learn something from these inspiring princesses. They have something to teach us throughout all the stages of our life.

1. To love ourselves from head to toe.

2. To allow ourselves to always get a little extra beauty sleep.

3. To be hardworking.

4. To not be afraid to try new things.

5. How to be one with nature and "paint with all the colors of the wind."

6. Everyday brings us little pleasures. We mustn't take them for granted.

7. There's no harm in twirling and daydreaming.

8. Take pride in all your morning glory. Drool? Who doesn't love morning breath. Hair a mess? At least you won't need hairspray.

9. Never lose touch with your intellectual side.

10. The importance of punctuality.

11. Sometimes it's okay to get a little icy. We all need our moments.

12. How to make do with what you have. Be inventive.

13. How to be sassy but still be a lady.

14. The importance of being a risk taker.

15. Don't be afraid to bring down the hammer.

16. We don't always have to eat our fruits and vegetables. I mean they could very well be poisonous.

17. To never underestimate the power of a true love's kiss.

Every girl dreams of being a princess. And, while we can't all be Kate Middleton and have this fantasy become a reality, we can at least come pretty darn close if we apply these lessons in our everyday lives.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
