When a boy tells you "hello,"
you will smile and your cheeks will illuminate with a glow you've never seen before.
It will feel like a new beginning; like he opened the curtains and peeked into you.
He will give you his name and you will give him your heart,
and soon enough, he will be holding every part of you.
You'll cough up the dust from your chest.
You just met this boy, and you're already obsessed.
When a boy calls you beautiful, it'll feel like the first time,
but you will be too intoxicated on him to see that his words
are blinding you from the situation.
You won't care if his eyes are glued to your breasts
because he is putting your insecurities to rest.
You are not searching for love; you just want to be loved,
and I don't think you can see the difference.
When a boy says he misses you,
for once in your life, you'll feel wanted.
And when he begs you to see him,
you will because he said so.
When a boy asks for sex,
you'll really feel needed,
but for all the wrong reasons.
Your thoughts will sound too much like white noise to think,
so you will say yes and sink in his bed and let his body melt into yours.
And when the boy says that he loves you- you'll believe him.
"I don't love you because you're naked; you're naked because I love you"
he'll whisper in the crook of your neck,
but you'll confuse the lust on his breath with love,
like the kind you're holding for him in your hand.
But when the boy finally leaves you,
it will ache and you will bleed and probably turn into a poet like me.
Nostalgia will become your best friend and
space will grow between you and your real ones,
but that's okay.
Take your time and heal.
Feel whatever you need to feel because in the end,
this is merely another story
and he is just another stupid boy you used to love.
Remember that.
