"The End Has No End"
Take me back to the days of old,
As I find myself looking through their pages and folds.
To the long winter nights,
With memories to hold,
Close in my hands,
Yet far from my heart,
Before all that I sought,
Was a new place to start.
Start over again,
When the summer revitalized me.
Though it was only after spring came,
And drew the life from me,
That it buried my thoughts in the depths of the sand,
On that cold winter beach where the snowflakes would land.
Landing on my skin,
So far out of place,
On frozen grounds where we never belonged,
On the frozen grounds of that lake.
I knew it was but a matter of time,
Before I would glance at the world through a fresh set of eyes.
Though seeing as I have not found the right lens,
I watch myself live through a continuum of no end.
If only I knew to warn myself,
That the end has no end.
