Podcasts that are Worth the Listen

It took me a long time to get to listen to podcasts, but in quarantine, I've finally mastered the act of listening to the podcast. Especially in quarantine, podcasts are a great way to feel like you're connecting with people. Podcasts are a nice thing to listen to when you're getting bored of music but can't seem to commit to a video.

Gals on the Go- Gals on the Go is definitely my favorite podcast at the moment. It is created by two college-aged YouTubers, Danielle Carolan and Brooke Miccio. I've been subscribed to their youtube channels for a long time and enjoy listening to their podcast every Wednesday. They talk about everything from college tips, friendships, routines, skincare, productivity, relationships, and more.

U Up?- U Up? Is a podcast created by comedian Jared Freid. Jared is definitely one of the funniest people I follow on Instagram and absolutely love listening to his podcast. He talks mainly about relationships and his life as a man dating in NYC. He runs the podcast with the cofounder of Betches, Jordana Abraham. It makes me laugh out loud almost every time I listen.

Tiny Desk Concerts- Tiny Desk Concerts is run by NPR and is basically what it sounds like, a famous musician comes into their office and performs a mini-concert at a tiny desk! There are really, really good, and it sounds pretty impressive and makes you feel good about yourself by technically listening to NPR. If we're being totally honest- you should probably just watch the recording of the podcast on YouTube especially if it was Harry Styles' episode because it was AMAZING.

TMG Podcast- TMG is a podcast run by Cody Ko and Noel Miller, who are without a doubt, two of the funniest YouTubers at the moment. I love their videos and think they're podcast is just so so funny.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
