You Need To Check Out The Podcast 'Beautiful Anonymous'
Spotify

If you could talk to a stranger on the phone for an hour about anything you want, would you do it? Could you open up about your fears, dreams and embarrassing stories? What if that phone call was posted on Spotify for anyone to listen to at any time? For some people, this may be way too intimidating, but for others, it may become one of the best hours of their lives.

Beautiful Anonymous is a podcast by Chris Gethard that is part of Earwolf Productions. This podcast has made me laugh, cry, and it has taught me some new skills (like obtaining a passport in 24 hours or less).

I started listening to this podcast when I was sitting at home alone and I needed something to do to pass the time. I loved the concept that anyone could anonymously call into this podcast and talk about whatever they want. I wasn't sure how I felt after the first episode, "Ron Paul's Baby" but as I continued to listen, I soon realized that this podcast is one of the most incredible things I have ever listened to.

When I first started listening to this podcast, I thought it would be about people who call to complain about their lives and the world that surrounds them. However, I was delightfully surprised at how light, charming and funny each podcast can be.

Chris Gethard makes each phone call a pleasure to listen to with his comedic input and his own life experiences that he helps relate to each caller. With each new podcast, I am taken on an adventure of stories that I can't stop listening to — even if they are wildly inappropriate or heartbreaking. As of right now, I have listened to a total of 34 episodes and it never seems to grow old.

One of the reasons I enjoy this podcast so much is because people from all walks of life call in and talk about their experiences and their opinions. One of my favorite episodes is "Make Fruit Baskets Great Again" because it featured a woman who is a Trump supporter.

Most people who call this podcast and who listen to it do not share the same political views as her so it was a fun change of pace to see a different perspective than my own. In this podcast, in particular, I was able to learn about some of the older generations in America and what their views and opinions are of the world that surrounds us today.

I think taking the time to listen to different opinions is important (especially in the days of social media) because it allows us to change our typical ways of thinking. We are openly challenging ourselves to find a different perspective even if we don't necessarily agree.

This podcast has changed my way of thinking, and it has helped me realize that everyone has a story. It doesn't matter what we look like, or where we've been. We all have something that we can share with the world. This podcast is incredibly charming, funny, and it never bores me. If you have a Spotify account, I definitely recommend you check out Beautiful Anonymous. Let's listen together.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
