Playing The Hand That God Dealt You

There are some events that you just cannot change.

Life can be rough and difficult at times. Obstacles and situations can occur that end up changing someone's outlook on life or their life in general. There are times when people feel like they should just give up or where they wish that they could just make time stand still, even if it was just for a second. Life can be great and surprising, but it can also be unbearably overwhelming. Life might not always go your way, but sometimes you just have to deal with it and overcome the obstacles that are stopping you for reaching your optimum potential in life.

Although it feels as though God is ignoring you, I believe that God is simply testing your faith in Him and in yourself. At first I did not believe that God was testing my faith when it seemed as though my life and those that I know was heading downhill. I had thought that he was pushing my prayers and wishes aside and focusing on something much greater than myself. I was wrong. Through tears and second-guessing my trust in God, I realized that I cannot change what has already occurred and that the only thing that was left for me to do was to move forward in my life and deal with the cards that God has dealt me, as others have to do with what they had been dealt. The days that came after were long, but the nights seemed to pass by slower. During the day it is easy to busy ourselves with things to do, but during the night our thoughts come to life and the mental activity can almost feel as though it is too much.

It may seem like you are alone in facing your life's obstacle, whether it be mental or physical, but it is important to remember that there are always people who are there for you as a shoulder to cry on or open arms that are waiting to be embraced by you. And though some people try to look like they are strong, everyone is facing a struggle whether it be big or small. Embrace them and love them just as they have loved you when you've hit a rough patch in the road. Care for them like they have cared for you. Return the favor, because they deserve to have someone to lift them up in their weakest moments. We're all brothers and sisters and need to become united in one's time of need. It is the humane thing to do.

Life can be tough and unbearable at times, but those moments do past. It may feel as though nothing is simple about this test when you feel vulnerable and alone, but after you overcome it, it seems like it was the easiest thing in the world as you'll look back on it with those who stuck with you throughout it all. The hand that God has dealt us may not be the best, but with loving friends and family we can get through just about anything.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
