A fundraiser is an event where a group seeking to generate financial support for a charity for a good cause. Usually the event the group plans are beneficial for the people, like a bake sale or a car wash. However, this takes a lot of planning in order for the event to pass through and be ready. It's easy to do but planning one is a whole another story.
1. Find a station.
First, find a company that will allow you to be on their grounds and do the fundraising. Unless it's a free place to set up anything you most likely need permission from the front office of that specific place. Companies who accept the fundraiser at their property usually have rules. Follow them accordingly so that in the future you'll have a good word if the team wants to use the same place again.
2. Set up a plan and time.
The next step is to set up a time to meet up and plan what each member has to contribute. You should also plan what everyone is doing at the fundraising, so teammates can be ready for whatever activities they need to do once they arrive.
3. Figure out what you are trying to donate.
After that, figure out what you want to sell for the fundraiser by looking at the environment you plan on stationing in. Research on what the people would love to donate money for and after that set a price range that they can afford. An example would be, a bake sale. Find a place where many people gather that like sweets and go for it. However, make sure you can get a good amount of food for the day and know where to get them from. Setting things up is important but getting the supplies you need is essential for success.
4. Make posters.
Make posters and also get ready to explain why your group is doing this. You've got the location and plan on what you want to sell, now the next step is to make posters and signs to grab people's attention. Write something that will catch people's eyes like maybe the colors or words that entice them looking into the fundraiser and see what's going on and if someone is holding a sign do some tricks with it.
5. Explain the reason for your fundraiser
After that, once they check out what your giving be prepared to explain why your group is doing this fundraiser. If it's for a just cause then the customer will most likely buy what the team is fundraising. But if you can't explain or don't know what to say the odds are they will not donate from you since they will be skeptical for where their money will go to.
Fundraising can really help you out by doing teamwork as well as planning things so in the future. Once you've done it you'll have a better understanding of how you should approach any team-based activities. Also, it's a good feeling. Helping others manages to bring a smile.
