As a native Floridian and a wedding planner, I have seen my fair share of beach weddings. The sunset creating the perfect backdrop, the sound of the waves crashing, and even the sand between your toes, are all things couples want for their big day.
Pump the brakes...this beach dream can often turn into a nightmare.
Here are things you need to think about when considering holding your wedding on the beach.
1. Is it a public beach?
If this is the case, well then you might as well not even send invites because you will have all of the general public there for your wedding. Grandparents in bathing suits...drunk frat boys playing volleyball...screaming children...everyone taking photos on their phones...you name it, it'll be on that beach.
2. Are there bathrooms close by?
It never seems to fail that a hand full of guests will walk all the way down to their seats and then realize they have to use the restroom; wanting to do it before the ceremony starts, they walk all the way back.
3. Will all of your guests be able to walk in the sand?
The sand isn't always our friend to walk in, especially for those who are in a wheelchair or using a walker.
4. Are you going to have a microphone?
I know it's an extra expense, but trust me you will need a microphone - you might not realize just how windy it can be closer to the water.
There is no doubt that beach weddings are beautiful, so when planning one make sure you consider all these options so, not only, you, but your guests, too, enjoy the big day!
