Places To Explore On Long Island For Summer

If you live on Long Island or are just traveling here for vacation these are some places to see on your way. Long Island has some beautiful places to explore and adventure with friends, family, partners, anyone! These are just some places to visit and adventure because they are fairly cheap, don't have to go to far and as long as you're with people you love, you should have fun. So grab a few close friends and/or family and go explore the beautiful Long Island (that I call home).

1. Greenport Village

Greenport Village is located in Suffolk County, Long Island. Greenport is one of my favorite places to visit and explore this appealing village because of the wide variety of activities. Some activities including: shopping, dining, boating and accommodations. Also, I would recommend going to Claudio's Restaurant because it's right on the water, have a band playing, and the environment is delightful.

2. Gosman's Deck, Montauk

If you haven't been to Montauk yet, I would definitely encourage you to go to Gosman's Dock. It offers spectacular scenery (for those artsy Instagram lovers), fine dining, small shops, clothing, etc.

3. Fire Island

Fire Island is also yet another wonderful and beautiful place to explore with friends and family because of the welcoming environment and beautiful scenery of course. Also, it doesn't cost a lot of money to get there either. Fire Island has activities including: dining, shopping, the beach, boating, rental houses and the lighthouse.

4. Port Jefferson Village

Port Jefferson Village is located in Suffolk County and is one of my top favorite places to go to in the summer with my family and friends because it's so close to my home. It's a beautiful summer night adventure to shop till you drop, dine, watch the boats on the harbor and great frozen yogurt (if I do say so myself).

5. Long Beach

Long Beach is located in Nassau County and is also notorious for their beautiful views of the water as well. Long beach has a board walk on the water with a bike path for a nice outdoor bike ride with family and friends. Also, there are restaurants in the town with little gift shops.

6. Hampton's

If you haven't been in East or South Hampton, I really don't know what to say to you. This is a beautiful place to visit and explore. So get there now.

7. Jones Beach, Wantagh

Jones Beach is a great place to go to, not only for the enormous beach. Also, the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater is an outdoor amphitheater located here as well. My friends and I use to stay at the beach all day and then at night just listen to the music from the beach.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
