One of the best places to go during the holiday season is New York City, also known as “The Big Apple.” There is so much do and see! Whether you are going for a day, a week, or longer, you will always find an attraction to see or a place to eat.

During the holiday season, New York City has such holiday cheer because many people come to see the tree and spend time with family exploring the city, while seeing all the decorations and endless lights. The top 10 places to visit are listed below.

1. Tree In Rockefeller Center

Because of the famous tree located in its center, the Rockefeller Center is one of the most popular tourist attractions during the holiday season. It is brings a lot of people to the city because they want to see what all the "talk" is about regarding this landmark. The tree stands about 75-feet tall, and is decorated with many colorful lights. The best time to see the tree is at night, when you can see all the lights glowing.

2. Carmine's Italian Restaurant

Looking or a great place to eat when in the city? Head on over to Carmine's. It has been in the city for many, many years and serves some of the best Italian food around. It is one of those places that people say you need to go to if you are in the city.

3. Bryant Park

One of my favorite places in the city is Bryant Park, which has its own skating rink. The nice part is that skating is free, if you bring your own skates. If you are not a fan of skating, there are also many little shops and vendors located in the park. There is also a tree located in the center, where visitors often like to take photos.

4. Times Square

Times Square is known as the place where millions of people gather and wait all day to see the famous ball drop on New Year's Eve. Here's a little secret-- if you really want to see the ball that drops on TV, head to the city a couple days before and you will be able to see where it drops as well as the ball itself with your own two eyes. While it doesn't actually drop, you can imagine what it would be like.

5. 5th Avenue Holiday Displays

Walking down 5th avenue, there are lights, lights, and lights everywhere. All the stores have their window displays decorated with breathtaking light displays. If you are not really in the holiday spirit, just take a trip down 5th Avenue to change that.

6. Central Park

If love sledding, head on over to Central Park and its many hills. Sledding is a must during the holiday season, especially in the city, where there is unmatched Christmas spirit. There are also many little holiday shops and light displays in Central Park.

7. The Radio City Rockettes

Looking for entertainment while in the Big Apple? This is a great place to take friends, family, kids, etc. It is a show put on by the Rockettes, who are fantastic dancers and are famously known for their kick line. Not only are you able to see the Rockettes, but you are also able to see a special appearance from Santa, as well as a live manger scene.

8. Empire State Building

If you are looking for a place to see the beautiful city during the day or at night, the Empire State Building is the place for you. During the holiday season, it is especially breathtaking to see the city from such an altitude because there are so many lights and decorations. Also, if you are a fan of the movie "Elf," you are able to see one of the places where this top-rated holiday movie was filmed. You too can feel like Buddy the Elf when you step into the Empire State Building for the first time.

9. Ice Skating Rink In Rockefeller Center

One of the best known ice skating places is located in the middle of Rockefeller Center. You can enjoy ice skating while being able to look at beautiful scenery, which includes tree and light displays. Unlike Bryant Park, it cost a few dollars to ice skate here.

10. The High Line

Although the weather is a little chilly, the High Line is a must do when going to the city. While walking the High Line, you are able to see all the lights that people display throughout the city. You can do this during the day or even at night.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
