The holidays are upon us, and for many broke college students, that means getting creative with where your presents are going to come from. Fortunately for us, many people have already taken the time to compile DIY posts and craft images into handy boards for us to peruse as we finish our finals and pack to go home.

As convenient as this is for us, Pinterest gets a bad rep for being a hub for white moms with too much time on their hands, doing crafts that are needlessly complex. But that shouldn’t stop you from buying that kraft paper or hoarding Michael's coupons― here are eight ways to tell if you’re secretly a Pinterest craft mom too.

1. You own a hot glue gun.

Also known as the gateway drug to crafting, you’ve had this trusty little thing for quite a bit now. You know exactly how long it takes to get hot without touching the tip and how to master those pesky hot glue threads.

2. You can sew AND you can do it well.

Plushies, dream pillows, mending ripped shirts― you name it, you can sew it. There’s nothing a step-by-step tutorial can’t teach you.

3. You’ve made most of your friends’ birthday presents.

Not only is it unique, sometimes it’s much more affordable than going out and buying something, especially not when you’ve spent hundreds of dollars over the years amassing craft supplies.

4. You’ve resolved to craft all of your holiday presents this year too.

Additionally, you’re making your own stamped wrapping paper using a lint roller, ink, and some foam on brown kraft paper, tied up with twine and secured with a pine branch because you’re extra as hell and your presents are going to be the cutest if it’s the last thing you do.

5. You’ve spent way too much at Michael's...

You thought you only grabbed a bunch of cheap things, but suddenly when they’ve rung you up at the counter, your purchase has gone over $50. What started as picking up a new hobby has turned into a bigger investment than you initially thought, and this isn’t the first time it’s happened.

6. ...But it was okay because you had a sweet “60% Off One Item” coupon.

You breathe a sigh of relief as it drops you below that $50 benchmark. You can now go home with your bag of new supplies, guilt-free!

7. You have way too many pinboards.

You even have a wedding board even though getting married is the farthest thing from your mind right now. You couldn’t help it; the color scheme was cute as hell.

8. You have mason jars everywhere. Literally everywhere.

For salads, candles, gifting, and more, this extremely versatile tool can be used everywhere and anywhere you need a handy, aesthetically rustic looking container.

Being a Pinterest craft mom isn’t so bad. Your life is filled with small trinkets that make your day-to-day more visually pleasing and your life certainly seems to look more put together than many other people’s. So embrace your flannel and puffy vest outfit and get to crafting!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
