Now that it’s finally not 90 degrees outside anymore, we can start wearing the other 85% of our wardrobes and I personally, am absolutely ecstatic. I LIVE for fall and winter clothes and in my opinion, they are so much more fun to wear, shop for, and style. These are just some of the amazing pieces you’re sure to have in your closet this season.

1. Sweaters

Probably my favorite clothing item I wear when the temperatures start dropping. There’s just something so cozy about throwing on your fave sweater, crew neck, quarter zip, or good ole sweatshirt. And oh boy, if your sweater is soft on the inside and/or has pockets, it’ll quickly become a permanent staple in your wardrobe.

2. Sweatpants

I know what you’re thinking, finally, it’s cold enough to wear sweatpants every single day. They’re comfy AF and now you can sleep in on those cold mornings and roll right into your sweats. Or hey, maybe you wore sweats to bed; those will be just fine to go to class in too.

3. Gloves and Mittens

Usually, my hands are always super cold in the fall and winter months so I rely on my trusty gloves. You can always get cute, cheap pairs from Target or Wal-Mart in multiple shades and patterns. They’re also a must when planning for future snowball fights this holiday season.

4. Scarves

Infinity or oversized, plaid or cable knit, there are so many different kinds and styles to choose from this fall/winter. They’re so stylish and keep your neck warm while you’re navigating the winter wonderland this year.

5. Boots

You can, of course, wear your Timbs all year if you really want but now it’s time to add your Uggs and winter boots to the mix. You’ll need your boots to stomp through all the snow and slush while you’re building snowmen and to navigate through cute Christmas light festivals. Just make sure you remember to waterproof those Uggs so they don’t get ruined!

6. Hats

IT’S BEANIE SEASON Y’ALL. We have finally reached a temperature where we can wear things on our heads and not catch fire. Now when you’re getting ready in the morning and don’t know what to do with your hair, you’ve got a new, comfy option to keep your head warm and your bedhead at bay.

7. Fuzzy Socks

If you love all kinds of socks as much as I do, you’ll also love collecting fuzzy socks to wear throughout the week. Fuzzy socks look good in boots and they’re pretty cute with your Birkenstocks before the snow hits. They’re just so soft and also double as slippers around the house, what’s not to love?

8. Long Sleeve Shirts

The sweater's cousin, they're a go-to when fall hits. Long sleeve shirts are perfect for layering and, let's be honest, wearing underneath that one jacket you have that's probably not warm enough but it's cute and you need to post a pic in it for Insta.

9. Turtlenecks

Turtleneck sweaters are a mega fashion statement and can be paired with scarves, vests, beanies, etc. They can be super close to the neck for extra warmth and some are a little lose with extra fabric for a different look.

10. Bubble Vests

The perfect accessory for any outfit; they go amazingly over flannels, sweaters, and long sleeves. They're stylish and keep your core nice and warm in any unpredictable fall or winter weather!

11. Winter Coats

There are so many options when it comes to winter coats! The ones with the fuzzy hoods are a personal preference but the coats that are made for skiing and snowboarding are absolutely essential when it comes to scheduling those super fun winter activities.

12. Dark Colors

I wear dark colors year round and have gotten nagged at that I don't wear brighter colors but since it's fall and soon to be winter, it's finally more acceptable to wear all those blacks, browns, dark greys, and navy blues.

Fall and winter clothes are the best kind of clothes by far. They’ll always be comfy, cozy, so soft, and exactly what you want to wear on a cold winter day. There are also so many different options to choose from and mix and match. Now, go put on some sweats, fuzzy socks, and a sweater and curl up on the couch with a movie and some hot chocolate!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
