Pick A Card, Any Card

How people are similar to a deck of playing cards.

What is the best card in deck of 52 cards? Could be a King? Queen possibly, or maybe an Ace. Some may even say that a six or a three is the best. These values may be different but their worth is all the same. Missing just one card isn't the same as having a full deck. These cards depend on each other just like people do in life.

I got to thinking as I was building a card house, "These cards are a lot like people". I make this reference in that I mean each card has a different face value. In life there are those who are of the very wealthy-related to the cards 10 through King. There are those who are on the poorer end, two through five. lastly we have the middle class, six through nine.

Everyone may have a different face value but we all have the same worth in life. We may have different net values but at the end of the day, we are still people. No one should feel lesser of a person based on what they think their own worth is.

In a game of cards, yes the higher ones help you more, but the ones on the lower end can help you just as much. It's not about what your face value is, it is what you can do when you show others you're value is worth more than what they first see.

It doesn't matter if someone is a king, queen, seven, four or an ace. Because at the end of the day we are all going into the same box. This box is earth. We all live side by side and yet we see each other as face value. No matter what we may see on the outside of someone, there is always more inside them. I wish for everyone to not judge someone based on what they came from, but to accept them for who they are.

We all may be different when it comes to where we place ourselves in the card realm, but this doesn't mean we all can't get along.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
