If you aren’t obsessed with your pet then you must be lying and I am calling you out right now!

Having a pet is unlike anything else in the world. Why, you ask? Because not only can you spend all day literally observing your pet and feeding him or her 18 treats while you binge watch your newest Netflix obsession but they serve many purposes for you just like you do for them and they won't judge you when you do something weird. When you spill the entire contents of your perfectly made sandwich on the kitchen floor they won't even tell on you. What mom doesn't know won't hurt her, right?

Who else is down to lay in bed all day next to you while you scarf down that cold pizza and listen to your new Spotify playlist? That’s right, your furry friend. And it’s typically a mutual relationship although some may agree. You feed, play, and bathe this creature but what do they give you in return? UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! What more could you even need? Maybe some food and water but hey don’t be so greedy. Your pet gives you the love and support they know you need and they don't do it for any other reason than the fact that they absolutely adore you. You comfort them just as much as they comfort you and they want you to know how much they love you. I’m not an animal whisperer but I’m pretty sure I’m correct.

Pets are good for your physical and mental health. They help keep us active, relaxed and even give us a sense of responsibility when taking care of another being.

Also, what’s better than walking into your home and being greeted by the most enthusiastic little creature jumping up and down and all over you even though you saw them 2 hours ago?! No matter how long you leave them they are SO happy to see you again. And again. And again.

I can't say I'm all for taking an animal out of its natural habitat for selfish reasons (like tigers, lions, sharks, etc) but if you ask me a dog doesn't need to spend his whole life roaming around in the grass looking for prey. He’s pretty content being inside my air conditioned house with soft furniture and organic treats. Elephants on the other hand, keep those out of your backyard please, and don't even get me started on the whales.

Pets are the furry, selfless siblings we all want and we all need, unless you're allergic and if we’re lucky enough we get the chance to have one at some point in our life.

Go get yourself a pet. And if you can’t, I’ll let you borrow mine.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
