House Pets Are Better Than People For These 5 Reasons

Admit it, they're more lively and bubbly than anyone else you know.

Today, I'd like to share with you why pets are better than most people.

In today's modern society, manners are hard to come by. Why is that? I wish I knew the answer. I've grown up very disciplined and if I didn't use manners in any given social situation, I'd get into trouble. What happens to people today that don't behave well or listen to their parents when being told not to do something? From what I can see, nothing happens as a result. When a child misbehaves, parents just smile and laugh at their child's mischiefs because they find it adorable and silly.

Having identified these issues, I have come up with a few reasons as to why animals - specifically house pets - are better than people.

1. Pets don’t talk back to you.

Any owner of a pet can admit that pets cannot talk back to you when you tell them no. Because they cannot speak proper English (though they try), house pets will listen when they're told no mostly because they know there are consequences. But since they can't say anything back when they're told no, they figure they should obey their owner or else something bad is waiting for them. The main point here is that they can't get a smart mouth with anyone, which automatically makes them more tolerable to live with.

2. Pets don’t need a college education.

As a parent of pets, not needing to worry about having to set money aside for their education later on in their lives is a huge perk. Here's a warm thank you to my parents for supporting me in my college journey and for helping me deal with my student loans because I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to balance student loans and house mortgages, bills, etc. Though they're considered adults by the time they're about 1-1.5 years old, house pets can get a wonderful education free of charge from their owners. There are plenty of opportunities to also sign up for training classes, but even those normally cost way less than any student loan does.

3. Pets are easy to deal with as they grow up.

Compared to children and teenagers, dealing with a house pet is much simpler for a few different sub-reasons. Pets don't go through a puberty phase, and if you remember the fact that they can't talk back, it makes going through the tough stages of their lives so much more manageable. When turning from puppies, kitties, etc. into "adult" stages, pets don't experience hormonal troubles or periods of time when they need to be alone. Depending on the pet, it can be very social all of the time, making their presence more enjoyable, or it can be more laid back and non-troublesome, making it a more relaxed presence. Either way, it's more enjoyable.

4. Pets love you all of the time.

One big plus to house pets is that they're (usually) very happy to see you when you arrive home from a long day of work (or shopping, traveling, etc). A friendly greeting at the door or a positive energy when entering the room they're in is such a wonderful feeling to have as an owner. Pets can make someone perk up so easily, especially when they've had a tough day and need a reason to smile. Unlike humans, pets are always happy to see you, no matter the circumstance.

5. Pets can make terrific emotional support systems.

There is a way to have a pet certified as an emotional support animal for an owner that needs a calming presence when they're in distress. As someone who suffers from anxiety/depression, a pet that also doubles as an emotional support system would be ideal to keep a smile on my face all of the time. Humans can be good support systems, no shade there; but humans aren't always able to be there for you physically. Having an emotional support animal means they can be with you in a lot more places than a human companion may be able to. They also don't try to talk a person through an anxiety attack or distress. Instead, they try to distract a person from thinking by making them give the animal attention. It's easier to smile this way.

Animals are better than humans. This is the truth. I love all of my close friends and family and couldn't live without them, but in any other given situation, I'd take an animal over a person. Sorry not sorry.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
