These days, you can log onto Instagram and search for pet profiles from all around the world. You begin following a pup from Belgium who is somehow friends with a Cali surfer doggo and the world just seems like a fun place. Then, at some point, you think to yourself, could my furbaby have his own Instagram account? And the answer is yes. Always yes.
Some people might think it's incredibly silly to make your pet an Instagram profile. They will tell you it's ridiculous because of the very obvious fact that 1 - your pet doesn't have thumbs to run the account and 2 - they'll think it's a waste of your time. I'm here to tell you otherwise.
Creating an Instagram account, or any type of social media account, for your pet is really more for others than it is for them. It's for your friends and family who love your furbaby as their own. It's for someone in Belgium who is looking for a cute pup or kitty to check in on every now and then just because it's fun to do. It's for the person who is having a rough day and needs an escape. It's really not for the people who take social media seriously, but for the millions who want social media to be a good time every time they log on. It's for those random people out there that just need a cute little furbaby face to pop up on their feed at random times, no matter where in the world that cute little furbaby lives.
Even more so, creating an Instagram account for your pet is more for you than it is for the above people. It's a chance for you to show the world what you think your pet's personality really is like. Yes, they're cute and loving, but what do they really think of you talking to them in a baby tone? You can easily put a word bubble over their head that says "mom, stop" and it's not like a rude teenager but absolutely adorable. It's your way of showing the world your pet and all of their goofy and lovable personalities.
Also, creating a social media profile for your pet is a way to have them live on forever. Although we all wish our furbabies would live longer than we would, that's usually not the case. It's incredibly sad when a pet leaves us, as it's like a part of us is gone forever, and although a social media account will never be as good as them still being around, it does help to know that a piece of them will continue to be in our lives. Even if we lose photos or our phones or computers die on us, we can still log on and see that cute little face, and that makes it worth it.
Does your furbaby need their own social media account? Probably not. But do they deserve it? Yes, because you deserve it! You deserve to share your love for your pet with the world and the world deserves to see their cute little face whenever you decide it's time for a post. Your pet deserves to be adored from people around the world and you deserve to be able to log on, whether your pet is sleeping next to you or has crossed the rainbow bridge, to see their adorable face that you love so much.
