Summer Goals-

Throughout the summer college students are only looking to make money and lose as much of the freshman fifteen before the next semester kicks in. Over this summer there are a few other goals I have in mind to add to the list!

  1. Making Money- With the first being simple and usually what students are looking to do over the summer, my first goal is to make money for the upcoming school year. In order to not work as hard during the year and focusing on the absurd amount of credits I will be taking. Working two jobs this summer I am hoping to have a good amount of funds when I return to school, but clearly I will not be sleeping a lot!

  1. Fixing Car- Fixing my car is a big part task for me this summer. Seeing that I am a broke student I paid my car out right for 800 dollars and fixed the body work on it. With there still being damage from the previous owner I will be attempting to replace car parts, and paint my car to a new shade of black for the school year.

  1. Learning to play guitar- Always wanting to learn to play guitar I have decided that this is the summer I will do so. The first day back in Rochester I bought myself a guitar for fifty dollars and have learned a few notes. However, there is still a long way to go. If anyone knows how to play please teach me!

  1. Road trips- Road trips are a must this summer! With there are so many beautiful places to see that I have not been to yet and this summer will be filled with lots of traveling and many road trips. My goal is to see five different states this summer. Canada will also be on that list getting me started towards my Europe adventures.

  1. Studying abroad- This summer is all about a new me, and new plans. There is a lot that goes into planning to study abroad and with that my summer will be spent researching, and saving for the fifteen long weeks I hope to ditch Utica and spend in Europe somewhere!

  1. Health nut- With the whole new summer and new me I am attempting to eat better and only drink water. Exercising is always a little harder when netflix is calling my name and working at two fast food places. However, I am dedicated to being as healthy as I can be for myself.

  1. Loving myself- I have never been the person who has loved themselves a lot. This summer is all about me and I am being selfish with it. The money I make will go to thing I love and want. The places I go will be where I will want and many more selfish things that will allow me to take care of myself this summer, rather than worrying about others.

  1. Memories- Everyone’s goals no matter what they are, are to have fun and make memories. This will be a couple months filled with the best the sunny days have to offer before the snow kicks in and the air hurts my face.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
