My mind constantly goes a mile a minute and my consciousness is right there with it. Sometimes I'm so lost in my thoughts that I lose touch with reality, and that's okay. Your head is probably in the clouds too if you're reading this.
Some people think that we're unfocused and always spaced out, but that's not true. There's a difference between that and simply being invested in thoughts. When the time calls for it, we can 100% focus on tasks. But during relaxed times, we can daydream for ages. It isn't hard for us; we don't even have to try. Daydreaming has mixed reviews but it's totally normal and fine.
We get so caught up in our thoughts. Often, they're not overly complex, powerful, meaningful thoughts. Most times they're about simple things like a pet or an event that took place during our day. Whatever it is, we can spend so much time just thinking about it. Our minds aren't vacant; they're the opposite, which is why we're constantly in our heads.
People find it weird to catch someone staring off into space but that person is most likely daydreaming or reviewing their day. They're spending time outside of reality. Whenever I see someone in deep thoughts, I just smile to myself knowing that I'm not alone.
It's okay to spend time in your head. It's okay to zone out and forget reality for a bit. Just focus when you're supposed to and enjoy the reality surrounding you and the thoughts above you.
