Your trip is probably next week, next month, or you are still planning it right now. Regardless of where you are in the planning stage of your trip, you are more than likely nervous about travelling out of state or out of the country by yourself for the first time. While you traveled many times before with your parents, you still feel like something is going to go wrong and the whole trip will go into shambles because of that one little error. I can tell you that you will have the best time of your life and you will discover a lot about yourself that you never knew before.
I knew what that feeling felt like when I started planning my first trip to Florida by myself. I've been on an aeroplane before, but not by myself. That was all I wanted to be able to do since I started college. I saw lots of pictures of my friends going to lots of places by themselves, and it looked like the best time anyone could have. I couldn't wait until it was my turn to be able to travel by myself and make those memories for myself. However, I was still feeling nervous about it since I never traveled by myself before.
I planned this trip with my boyfriend several months in advance since he knew that I never been on an aeroplane by myself before, nor have I reserved an aeroplane ticket before. He helped me go through the whole process and I could not be more grateful for anything my whole life. The hardest part about the plane ride there was claiming my luggage after coming off. It took a while for me to claim it and I was starting to feel a little bit anxious. Once I got my luggage I felt more relaxed and my boyfriend helped me through the process.
The trip itself was the most fun I ever had on a vacation before. Not only did I get to spend the whole week with my boyfriend (something I've never done with my previous significant others), but we got to have the summer fun together that I was not able to have this past summer. Since both of us worked our summers away, we were not able to get any time on the beach, let alone any time together. This trip was the best way I could be able to have all of that together.
Travelling by yourself may seem like a scary thing at first, but once the trip is over, you are going to wish that it's going to go on forever. I will never forget going into the airport and going through security crying because I wanted the trip to last longer. I could not imagine a better vacation all because the love of my life was by my side. Travelling by yourself will be the best thing that will ever happen to you during your young life.
