Over the years girls are becoming more and more obsessed with their image, how skinny they are, how tan they are, etc. For a lot of girls out there, (at one point myself included) they have obsessed over every aspect of how they look and have taken drastic measures to get themselves looking the way they believe is "beautiful" in society today.
For months I attempted to vigorously shape my body like these models all over the internet. From forcing myself to go to the gym, to watching everything I ate and put into my body. It just grew to be a chore and I soon began to dread going to the gym everyday and doing these intense workouts and eating things I did not want to eat.. all for how my body would look. After months of this lifestyle I realized I was just plain unhappy with the way I was living my life.I started to realize that none of this really mattered and it was not worth wasting my life unhappy and planning out everything I eat and do in a day. One of the best things about life is the unpredictable nature of it and if you aren't taking advantage of that than what are you doing? I have started going to the gym and running for fun because I like it and it makes me feel good. Living a busy life, a big part of my life is the unpredictable food choices that I am faced with everyday. I've learned to balance, to eat healthy and not stress over having a bagel one morning if I really want one or going out for ice cream with some friends.
Living a life that you love is what I believe is a healthy and happy life. It's so much more than looking like a model. Everyone is different and everyone is beautiful. Learning to love yourself and that you are beautiful in your own way is the key to your happiness and living a long lasting, healthy life. There's so much more to life than constantly stressing about your appearance. You are all beautiful no matter how tan you are and how skinny you are! Its not about having a perfect summer body, its about having a healthy one. Promote Self-Love!
