Support. Where would we be without support? I swear it makes the world go round.
We receive support from friends, family, coworkers, employers, professors, parents, siblings, and the list goes on. I can, with almost 100% certainty, chalk most of my success up to the people who support me.
I’m really not sure where I’d be or what I’d be without them.
If I had the time, I swear I could individually write an article to every single person who has supported me on this five-year journey.
And oh, it’s been a journey. Five years. Four major changes. Two colleges. But here I am, a college graduate. Crazy, right? I know, I’m thinking the same thing.
The road was long and hard, but the benefits and achievement I felt coming to the end made it so worth it.
To the people who supported me through college, there aren't enough seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years to thank you.
You were always there to assure me I could do it. It was tough, but I would always be tougher. You were always there as a shoulder to lean on when the worst times hit.
You believed in me every single time I didn’t believe in myself. You knew I could do it, even during the times I didn’t even think I could.
You listened to me complain endlessly about group work, assignments, professors, and classes. You listened without ever showing a sign that you didn’t care because, honestly, I know you didn’t.
You’ve congratulated me for every single achievement, from finishing my last math class to getting into the Honor Society. You’ve always been my cheerleaders exactly when I needed it.
You’ve checked in after knowing how upset, stressed, or worried I was. You knew when something was really bothering me and when I was really struggling.
You loved me. You cared about me. You supported me.
Every. Single. Time.
That, at the end of the day, was what I always needed. It’s what I can’t possibly thank you enough for.
