People Change People

"The secret of life : People change people. Learning from the people you know, meet, and care about is more important than the words on any page."

We're all going through life at different phases, but were all connected somehow. Everyone has gone through experiences that no one knows and why they did them. We're all different, yet the same when it comes to wanting to be accepted. Each of us come from different backgrounds, house holds, and friends. When we all come together though we all can teach each other a thing or to.

I don't know about you, but I always love hearing what people have to say. Don't you just love meeting people and talking about life? I know I enjoy people that come across as interesting, out going, exciting, and you can see their eyes light up when they are telling a story even if its nothing really big. They rub off that energy and somehow make life a little better. This helps us grow as a person and mature.

I always love being around friends because they accept you for who you are and understand you. They are fun to be around and will always give you advice or tell you the truth when needed. I've always taken what I've learned from them and passed it on. They do say you are the people you surround yourself with. This statement is true whether people realize it or not. The energy my friends give off is genuine and positive. Positivity has always been a big part of my life and I will continue to strive with the positive energy.

Yes, we all have friends that we've grown up with but we always meet new people who over time become friends too. They change us for the better and continue to help us strive to be the best version of ourselves. It's always fun to meet new people and get to know them and their backgrounds. It really does make a difference when you surround yourself with mature, fun, and out going people who generally want you to do well. Then again everyone is different and goes for different vibes in life but that's just how it is.

So the next time you pass by someone who you don't know, get the courage to start a conversation, who knows maybe they'll take you by surprise and end up becoming a good friend.

People change people.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
