My Passions Drive Me To Create Positive Change In My Community And Help Others

Passions are something we all have, no passion is too small or too big.

With the new year already here, we all should take a moment and think about what drives us to be our best selves. We all have many passions, but which ones are the ones that make the differences? Which one are the ones that we never think twice about? For me, the passions that drive me to create change are helping others in and out of my community and being honest.

My passion of helping others is extended to various places. Helping others is something I never think about; I just simply do. I do not mind if it takes a lot of time or if someone asks me last minute because I know that helping them also helps me. Being passionate about helping others helps me because it can be a distraction from school work all the time or even a way for me to make new friends.

For example, I volunteer at a senior living center near me. There I am simply the bingo caller, but even with that simple of a job, I get so much joy going there every week. I get the joy not because I get out of the house, but because I get to see the smiling faces of all the people there. That is what gives me true joy because even if I am having a bad day, I go there, and within seconds, I forget whatever it was that was bothering me.

The way I think of it is that we should not think twice about an opportunity to help others, instead, we should thank them for the opportunity because who knows, you could learn from them.

Another aspect of life that I am passionate about is being honest to not only myself but also to others.

I am passionate about this because personally, I believe that if you cannot tell the truth to someone or even to yourself, then it is something that is not worth it. I mean sure, there are exceptions like if your mom asks you why there was a charge on the credit card by you, and you got her a nice birthday gift. Then, you can fib your way through that one. However, if it is something serious that could harm others, then you have to be honest. Sure, it may take them time to forgive you, but you, at least, will not be lying to their face every time you see them.

Though my passions are different when compared to others, everyone should pride themselves on their own passions to make sure that they are truly believing in it.

My passions drive me to make a better change in the community so that those around me are happy and being helped as much as I can help them. And even though these are only two of the things that I am passionate about, the other ones I am just as passionate about because they help me be the better and kinder person I want to be. As we have heard before, "Passion rebuilds the world for the youth. It makes all things alive and significant." This was said by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

This quote makes us believe who we really are because in the human body passion is everything, and we can never let go of it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
