Everyone loves a good FSU Parents Weekend. Not only do you get to enjoy a game day spent tailgating and enjoying the fun and festivities that come with it, but you get to do all of that with your parents. Then your parents become best friends with all of the other parents. I mean honestly what could be better? Well, not sucking at football. That could be better. But nonetheless, Parents Weekend is the best weekend and here’s all the reasons why.

1. You get the text from your parents saying they have arrived.

Your parents just got in town and are insisting on coming straight to your house to see you which mean you have 10 minutes to shower, clean every square inch of the place, get ready, and get rid of your hangover from last night's trip to Derd.

2. You show them where you live.

They insist on seeing where you live and you just keep repeating "I promise it's not always this messy" over and over as if saying it will somehow make it seem believable.

3. They take you to Publix.

Finally you can enjoy some high quality food instead of just living off of instant mac n cheese and ramen. Might as well get a fully stocked fridge for free am I right.

4. Introduce them to your friends.

It's a nerve racking situation to say the least. You're excited for your parents and friends to meet, but the whole time you pray your friends don’t say anything too revealing about some of your not-so-great college decisions and pray your parents don’t whip out any baby pictures of you.

5. Take them out on the town.

Take your parents to happy hour at pots and show them how FSU really does it… or in my case a restaurant to avoid the parents that think they’re still in college taking y-bombs with their children and shot gunning beers.

6. Bonding of the parents.

You’ve seen it before, the dads stand in a circle chugging drinks and talking about their athletic achievements back in the day while the moms are huddled in a corner wiping each other’s tears over how “thankful they are for your daughter being such a good friend to mine.” Then they all drink the party juice, remember how fun it is to pretend like they’re in college again, and before you know it they are best friends.

7. Take them tailgating.

At this point your parents have gotten a feel for what Tally is about, however, your mom will never get used to seeing girls walking around in denim underwear and t shirts cut into tube tops. You cover your mom’s eyes at the frat houses while girls take shots from the ice luge while simultaneously trying to track down your dad and find him at the bottom end of a beer funnel. Or if you’re more like me, go to a family tailgate at the IM fields and force all your friends and their parents to take shots of Fireball together.

8. Go out after the game.

No matter how many times your parents say they’re tired just make them keep going. Always make them keep going.

9. Sleep all day Sunday.

Enjoy some rest and bask in the joy of a successful weekend partying Tally style with your rents and not having to pay for a single thing for 3 whole days. Job well done.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
