I've moved back into college this past Monday and let's just say that packing and moving all my stuff back into the 4th floor was... interesting? It took what felt like forever and when I was done I was tired and sweaty from making 4-5 trips (thankfully by elevator) to my room. Let's just say I learned a few things from this experience.
1. I am a procrastinating packer.
I wait til the last minute to pack. Don't get me wrong, I had started packing a week in advanced but I was packing all the easy things I could. I was packing the day I moved in and left three or so hours later than I originally planned because I was still packing. I always start planning ahead of what I need to do, but then put it off thinking I have more time then I actually have. #TooStressed
2. Moving-in without your parents takes 10x longer.
(This was me moving-in alone. #StruggleBus)
Last year, I had the luxury of my parents helping me unpack my things and the school helping me move my stuff up to my room. Now that I'm a sophomore, I don't get that luxury anymore and you know had to be an adult and move-in and unpack my things on my own.
3. I'm really bad at Tetris.
Now let me explain this. My mom and I say that in order to be able to pack all my stuff in my car and actually be able to see out of my mirrors and rear view window, I need to Tetris it and stack all the stuff like you would in the game. However, I am just okay at Tetris. It took me a while at first, but I was eventually able to stuff my car full of my things after many attempts. Let's just say mirrors and carpets are no fun to pack in the car.
4. High School Musical songs are good jams for the drive.
I live three hours from Stephens so I have plenty of time to jam out on the way there. Recently, I have been feeling very nostalgic and I've been listening to music I was into in middle school. So, it was only fitting that I listen to all the HSM CD's since I own them all...
5. It's all worth it once you unpack, set-up, and get settled.
Once all your wall decor is up, your desk is prepped, clothes are tucked away in your dresser and closet, and everything has found its place, it's so satisfying. It's awesome to have this space (for yourself or with a new roomie) once your in college. After all the craziness from packing, moving, unpacking, and moving-in, you find yourself at your home (or second home).
