What Happens When You Outgrow Odyssey?

The world is ever-changing, and unfortunately so am I.

I joined Odyssey in the spring of 2016. I had never been a part of a platform like Odyssey before. The community it brought together, the creativity it inspired, the support it offered, I was blown away by it all. Odyssey was truly magical. Since then, I’ve been a Content Creator off and on since then, but I never really “left” Odyssey. I took a short break in the summer and then came back full time during the summer of 2017.

Unfortunately, the things you love change, or you change. Regardless, things change. Odyssey didn’t represent to me what it once did. It became more of a chore than a fun pastime. I’m not here to bash Odyssey, because truthfully I have nothing but good things to say about the company.

And if you’re reading this thinking about applying: do it. Odyssey has changed my life in more ways than one. I don’t regret my time with Odyssey; I am thankful for my time with Odyssey.

I am grateful that a platform such as this exists for the millennial generation to express their opinions and ideas in a professional manner. However, the community I once was so invested in, didn’t feel like home anymore. Nothing really felt like home anymore, and I knew that was a problem. With internship season coming up right around the corner for me, and countless other personal changes happening in my life, I didn’t feel like I fit the Odyssey mold anymore.

So, this is my parting gift. I couldn’t think of anything else to give a platform who shaped me and gave me a voice I didn’t know I had. I will always love Odyssey, and I will always have good things to say about the company itself. I will still share my community’s articles and promote how talented the creators on my team are.

Odyssey, I’m sorry I have to leave, but you know better than most that the world is ever-changing, and unfortunately so am I. Thank you for being so good to me during my time here.

To my pals I leave behind, thank you for the memories, the laughs, the tears and the support. I’m still just a text or phone call away. I can’t wait to see your next article.

Be bold, be brave, be you.

With love,

Your Ex-Content Creator

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
