If you're signing a lease or sub-letting a new apartment, you want to make your new place feel like it's truly yours. Here are a few ideas to decorate and organize your new home.

1. A picture board

A simple but cute way to display several pictures together. Use mini clothes pins and string to hang the pics with and decorate your board however you want.

Buy it on Amazon.

2. Lights

These can be your basic white Christmas lights or something a fancier such as small lantern lights. Whatever you choose these will instantly spruce up your room and offer a dimmer lighting than your normal house lights.

Buy them on Amazon.

3. A 'Where am I?' board

This is good if you have roommates. Some possible ideas are class, my room, sorority house, work, or any other place you may frequent. This is helpful so that your roommate know not to call when you're in class.

Buy it on Amazon.

4. Office cart

If you have limited space in your room or study area a cart is a great way to save space. You can put your printer, papers, pens and pencils, books, and whatever else you need to save room.

Buy it on Amazon.

5. Calendar and writing board

Hang a calendar and chalk/white/cork board in a common area. This helps keep your and your roommates organized. Add events in on your calendar and use the other board for grocery lists and other things you need.

Buy it on Amazon.

6. A key holder

As someone who constantly loses their keys, this is something I definitely need. Customize these with your initials to keep up with which is yours.

Buy it on Amazon.

7. Coffee mug holder

These are helpful if you have several mugs yourself or between your roommate(s).

Buy it on Amazon.

8. Canvas paintings

These can be super fun to paint and turn out so cute. Spend some time with your roommate(s) and DIY a couple of these together. Check Pinterest for some cute ideas to paint.

Buy blank canvases on Amazon.

9. To-do clipboard

Divide a clipboard up into daily and weekly to-dos. Write the chores on clothes pins and put them on the to-do side. After they are done move them over to the done side to keep up with what is finished.

Buy a clipboard on Amazon and DIY the rest.

10. Cube shelves

These are great to use because usually you can't put holes in the walls. These stand up on their own and can be great for storage or to use as a TV stand. Put picture frames in the clots or storage bins for holding those random items.

Buy it on Amazon.

These are just a few ideas to try when decorating your new place. Find one you like and give it a try.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
