It's all too often in life that we tend to see the downside of things. While it is important to see the downside of things, it's important to see the upside as well. If we only see the downside, it's easy for us to get into a period of sadness, and lack of interest, because we're not seeing the good end of things. We're putting ourselves into a bad state of mind, so we start to lose hope that there is a positive.

Our minds can take us to that place, but it is our job to not let ourselves stay there, because it's not beneficial to only assume the worst, and think that there is no positive end of anything. There's no benefit in being depressed, but from times when I was sad in the past, I finally got to a point where I was sick of being upset all the time.

I couldn't be stuck in that mindset, because I never felt motivated to get anything done. I eventually decided to start seeing the brighter side of things. Even so, these only came in momentary phases.

Despite that being my personality, it doesn't mean that everyone is the same way. It just helps to know that adding a little positivity to your mind, can really help your outlook on things. You won't feel as troubled anymore, and you'll realize that everything in life is a lesson, and everything has meaning. It's just a matter of how it all comes into play. It's a momentary thought that can lead to big change in your disposition.

At the end of the day, it's just about benefitting yourself, to get closer and closer to being the best version of yourself. A small change of thought, can change your entire outlook on things, and as long as you find a to stay in a good place, mentally, you're benefitting the world and yourself, and this is why optimism is everything.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
