Unpopular Opinion: An Opinion On Opinions

Everything starts and ends with being respectful to one another.

I have an opinion.

A big thing that I have noticed on the internet is that everyone seems to be mad that everyone else has an opinion. I like to believe that I have always been respectful of other people's opinions and views. You believe what you believe and I'll believe what I'll believe and everyone should be happy, right? Wrong.

All I see in the world is people arguing and tearing each other apart over having an opinion and that's just absolutely ridiculous! Everyone is allowed to think whatever they want and broadcast it (respectfully) wherever they want regardless of if you agree with it or not. I have tons of friends that don't have the same opinions as I do and we get along great because we are RESPECTFUL of each other.

How does it affect you if, for example, you believe in God and someone else does not? How does them not believing in God really affect your life? It doesn't, or rather it shouldn't, but alas here we are at each other's throats because everyone doesn't believe everything in the exact same way you do.

That is a horribly close-minded way to live your life, and I don't see how anyone can be happy that way. Why would someone actively choose to go to youtube and watch a video about something they don't agree with and then say something hateful in the comments section? You are not helping any part of your 'cause' by doing something like that. People that do these things make me so mad because it's completely unnecessary and frankly pathetic.

We already live in a hate-fueled world; stop letting hateful comments pull you into an argument that no one is going to win. Do you really think someone that's spouting hate in the comment section of a youtube video is actually going to listen to you when you tell them "you're stupid and wrong and yada yada blah"? No. Those people are pot stirrers and have no desire to hear anything.

We are all allowed to believe in whatever we want to believe in. As long as you are respectful about it. You don't believe that LGBTQ+ individuals should have the same rights as you? Okay. Let's have a calm talk about why you think that so I can try to understand where you're coming from and why. No need to shout. No need to name call. We can talk calmly.

You don't believe in abortion? Fine. We can talk calmly about why you believe that as well. You believe guns should be banned? Yeah okay, can you tell me why you think that without trying to shovel it down my throat? We can have these conversations and many, many more as long as everyone can be calm, collected, and respectful.

Everything starts and ends with being respectful to one another. Why is that so hard for the entire world to understand?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
