Thanks for being the ultimate BFF.

A Thank You Letter To My Dog
Elizabeth Colagrande

Hey Pup,

I'm so grateful you came in to my life when I needed you most. It was almost like love at first sight when I saw your scruffy little face through the glass window. They told me you were the oldest puppy they had, but something told me that that didn't matter and I had to play with you anyway. We only played on the floor for less than five minutes, but I knew immediately that you were mine.

Of course, we had our up's and down's. I mean, who can forget the time we went to obedient school at Pet Smart and you tried to show the Great Dane who was the boss, even though he was ten times your size. Or the time we tried to get you into a harness, and you literally fought tooth and nail, so we just let you sit on my lap in the car. There were also the times you would wake everyone up in the middle of the night to protect us from the cats in the backyard; but someone has to protect us, right? But despite the not-so-great times we've had, I can't thank you enough for all the good ones.

Thank you for coming into my life and being the friend I needed when I needed one the most. Thank you for licking up my tears when I cried, and for never leaving my side when I got sick. Thank you for staying up with me when I needed to get those last minute assignments done, and for being the perfect distraction when I needed a study break. You're the best listener when I need to vent about my life, and you never judge me when I sing around the house when no-one's home. Thank you for always being happy to see me when I come home, no matter how long I've been gone. But most importantly, thank you for being the greatest best friend in the entire world. I don't think I'll ever find another friendship as special as ours.

With love and dog treats,

Your Favorite Person

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
