Even though the dining hall is hectic, it's such a saving grace for when you're starving and just want to eat everything in sight. The dining hall saves people from being hungry and dehydrated from their hangovers after a rough night out, and they make it feel a little bit like home when they do their specialty themed dinners.

Although I don't go as often, I always am happy with the dining hall, and especially their workers. I want to thank the University of New Hampshire dining hall in this letter.

Dear UNH dining hall/workers,

Thank you! Thank you for your hard work and the things you must deal with every single day. I can't imagine your job is easy. You must deal with an endless amount of personalities, manners, and behavior every single day.

Whether it be drunk kids from a party or a million coughing sick kids. You deal with a lot. I want to thank you for having patience when people aren't paying attention when you're handing their plate back to them, and sweating over food just to make us full with yummy food. I really do thank you though for your patience.

The day I was writing this in the lunch line today, one of you was waiting endlessly for this girl to pay attention as you were just holding her plate waiting for her. She didn't bother to look at you because she was too busy talking to her friend. I looked at you and gave you a smile because I know your job is hard, and you were doing great waiting for this girl who didn't know much better.

I want to thank you for when people like me accidentally fling salad makings everywhere because I'm clumsy and messy, and you pick up the scraps everywhere. We should be more considerate when taking our food because we are adults.

Even though cleaning is a part of your job, it shouldn't be so ridiculous and we should know better. I want to thank you for being so nice to us when students are walking in from a day of partying and pile on loads of food that we don't even finish. It sucks we are wasting food, but nobody yells at us. Thank you for that.

I want to thank the workers for being friendly as well. You could easily hate us all and not have a smile on your face when you talk to us because we aren't being the most friendly always, either.

Thank you for talking to us and being friendly and joking around with us. I've had a woman before telling my friend she deserved better when she overheard my friend talk about how she wasn't being treated nicely by a guy.

I also want to thank the woman who I talked to today, you made my short time getting my scampi pleasant. I told you I liked the garlic sticks of bread better than the garlic squares of bread. You told me that they have been getting a really good response, and then you looked at me and said: "Thank you for telling me that."

I don't know why that made me feel good, but I was happy to tell her that I appreciated what they did, and it felt nice that it made her happy too. The dining hall is a hard place, and thank you for everyone, students, adults, everyone who works there for doing what you do. It is simply fabulous and admirable.

From,

A thankful student

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
