We’ve all gone through bumps in the road that have caused us pain, heartache, or even sadness. Whether it have been the guy you were in love with walking away or even dealing with family issues pretty much your entire life. This causes it to be difficult to open up to anyone that tries to enter our lives. Several things can trigger the need to block out anything worth feeling for.
It’s not something to be proud of, but we can’t help it. The fear of ever feeling what we once had to go through again is enough to start stacking the bricks up. We have put it in our heads that holding everything in is better than showing anyone the real us. Even though, we have so much to offer.
Now and again we will take the risk and let someone see a glimpse into what really makes us who we are. It takes a lot to give someone the trust of letting them in just even a little, for the simple fact we constantly worry about them walking away as easily as they walked in. We pretty much have all our emotions bottled up in a little spot locked away hoping to never have to deal with them again.
So we throw our best smile and only show people how happy we can be so no one ever asks questions. Admitting that we build walls doesn’t mean we aren’t constantly working on taking them down, it’s simply a way to explain why we don’t go into detail about our past. We simply want to live for today and for what the day has to offer. Our best line we ever give anyone is “it's fine, everything is fine.” Because we’ve learned that at the end of the day it's true that everything will be fine.
