The summer of a college student is basically compromised into a single proportion. For every one hour of social life, there’s approximately seven hours of work. When this is the case, you get pretty close with your work friends. Luckily for me, my coworkers are made up of friends I’ve grown up and gone to school with (small town perks), but working together makes us that much closer. So here’s a little thank you for making those long shifts bearable.
Thank you for always being understanding when I come in a tad late. You guys know my life is in shambles 90 percent of the time, but you still love me. Same goes for when I am in a bad mood. It usually doesn’t last around you guys, but it’s a great feeling having a few personal therapists at work to vent to. I feel like I know your life story after a long night of complaining. (It doesn’t stop the weird looks I get when I ask how your cousin’s dog’s rash is doing, though.)
Thank you for being my go-to whenever something funny at work happens. We probably annoy our other friends by constantly recalling stupid stories and things that have happened at work, but that’s OK. No matter how slow the day is going, it’s not as bad when I have you guys there.
Thank you for tolerating my throwback T-Pain or Hannah Montana playlists when we’re closing. Thank you even more for singing just as loudly as me when “Life’s What You Make It” comes on.
A huge thank you for understanding my sarcastic (somewhat a**hole) personality. You know when I’m just kidding around, and you dish it right back. New workers think we don’t get along at first, but they figure out our relationship soon enough!
Thanks for having my back when a customer is upset about something, or giving me the “you’re about to say something you’ll regret” look. Without you guys, I don’t know where I’d be. I’m happy to say we really are a team at work.
Thanks for always being patient when trying to plan around work schedules. There’s very few days where all of us aren’t working, and even when we have the day off we still end up hanging out. Despite the much spent time together, we just can’t stay away from each other…
You guys know I’m not the sappy type at all, but I really appreciate everything you do for me. You make the hours go by fast, and we’ve somehow managed to make thousands of memories while getting paid to do it. Love you losers long time.
