To My University,
When I first saw your campus, I fell in love. I was reluctant at first, because I have seen so many other incredible universities, and I was afraid that you might have been the wrong decision. However, right when I stepped foot on your campus, I knew it was the place that I belonged. I will admit, it was terrifying having to make that final decision, but I have never once regretted my decision of choosing you.
When I started out as a freshman, I had no idea what I was doing with my life. When I changed my major on the first day of classes, there was no stress or frustration, because there are amazing people here that picked up the pieces. Your campus allowed me to have a perfect stroll to class, and I was never tired when I reached my desk. I am constantly surrounded by beauty and I wouldn't want to change a thing.
Thank you for providing campus activities that helped me realize my ability as a leader. The endless list of groups and organizations allowed me to find exactly what I wanted within an organization and grow to my full potential. You provided me with individuals that have helped me learn how to have fun, but also helped me learn how to have an amazing educational experience.
You helped me learn how to balance social activities and academics. You taught me that I can have a great grade point average and still have a solid group of friends and that both are important for a college experience. You made class feel like an opportunity, not an obligation. You taught me that taking notes is more than just writing useless words on paper, and each class is an outlet for something bigger than myself.
You helped me choose the right major for me, and helped me find the right path in order to find the perfect career in the future. I am no longer nervous for what is ahead of me, and I don't carry the same anxiety as I did before I came here. You helped me conquer my fears and you pointed me in the right direction.
You never doubted me, and you made me a good student and a strong leader. Thank you for the long nights studying, the orientations, the group project, and the classes that challenged me. Thank you for the friends, the memories, and the capacity to grow. I learned that I can leave this campus as a stronger and better individual, and in the end, that makes all the difference.
Sincerely,
A Thankful Student
