To My Future Little One,
I want to start off by saying that I seriously cannot wait to meet you. I know that when we finally meet, whether it be on Bid Day or randomly at the house while in line for dinner, there will be a connection between us—something that tells both of us that we're meant to be. I know that sounds kind of silly and maybe even a little creepy, but trust me, this feeling does happen. I'm so ready to reveal myself to you and then tackle-hug you while your G-Big and GG-Big take pictures of us in the process.
I can already see the crafts I've made you hanging up in your dorm room and you running out of space to put things because, let's face it, I'm going to spoil the heck out of you. I can't wait to become close to you and share our sisterhood together, watching you learn parts of our ritual and becoming more and more involved in our sorority along the way. I will always encourage you to do your best in everything, inside of our sorority and out, because I'm not the Big who raises a quitter.
I also want you to know that I will always be there for you in your time of need. I don't care what time of the day or night it is, just pick up the phone and call me. I'm excited to watch you experience your "firsts" of college, and I'm more than happy to show you the ropes. I'll be there for you when you make your first A on an exam, and I'll be there for you when you make your first F. I'll be there when you've had a really long night and need someone to hold your hair back for you, just like I'll be there when you need someone to straighten that one piece of hair on the back of your head that you can't quite reach. When you're sad because of a boy, I'll be the first to suggest to go get some ice cream, because we both know ice cream cures all. I'll always be your biggest cheerleader, and I'll always support you in whatever you choose to do.
Lastly, you should know that even though I will claim to be the image of perfection about 99.9 percent of the time, I am far from anything that's perfect. We all have our flaws, but that's what makes us "individually unique, together complete." I will mess up something at some point, but you'll love me regardless. And when you mess up, I will love you regardless. That's what Bigs are for. I'm counting down the days until we become a dynamic duo, and I hope you're just as excited as I am.
Love,
Your Future Big
PS: you should be prepared for me to make countless references to "The Office" and for me to send you text messages with links to vines that I think are hilariously stupid. I apologize in advance.
