Dear College Best Friend

We're soulmates, darling.

Dear Best Friend,

I'm glad I met you. You are exactly the person I needed to have in my life. You're like another sister to me, my other half, my soulmate for life. You and I are two halves of the same person. We share secrets, wardrobes, and inside jokes. We have a love for the same weird things, and neither of us judges the other about it (much). When God sent you my way, He knew what He was doing.

I've lost many a friend in my lifetime, but I know that, even though we may go separate ways after college, we'll always be soulmates and always find our way back to each other. Because that's what we do. We support each other, in both our career choices and our harebrained ideas...and we never let the other do crazy things alone.

I like how honest you are to me. You never hold anything back, never sugarcoat things that need to be said. You always tell things like they are, and I love you for that. You're so amazing, and I hope that one day you realize how amazing you are and own it. You're a star, girl. You always have been, and you always will be. And I'll always be right there at every show. I'm not going anywhere.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
