Dear College Student,
You've found yourself in the dead middle of the semester and all of the stresses that come along with being a student are in full force. Exams are frequent, meetings are never ending, and sleep is at the bottom of your priority list. You may feel like you simply cannot handle everything that is on your plate, and like you just want to quit everything at once. Or perhaps, like many more students, you're slowly trying to choose what exactly to give up on and what is actually worth your time. You may feel like you are not in the right place or doing the right things. You may even feel like the semester will never end.
While you are feeling like this, remember why you started this journey. Remember what you are striving for and what you will be rewarded with in the end. Remember that if your plate is too full you CAN drop something off of it. If you feel like you are doing everything wrong, try your best to make it right for you. Do not let yourself feel defeated by a test or a class. In the grand scheme of things, one test or one bad day is not going to effect your long term goals. Try to stay positive when things get hard and remember that you can do this. You are here for a reason and if you could not handle it, then you would not be here right now.
One of the best ways to look at it is to think that your college chose you, and you chose it. They chose you over countless others because you stand out and you are worthy of their education. You chose it because it appealed to you and it was worth your effort. Yes, it costs an arm and a leg to go to college and there are plenty of rude and cynical people who will spend nearly every day of their college experience telling everyone why we are all wasting our time, but it's better for everyone to just tune that all out. You can do this. Whether it's your first mid-semester slump or your last, things will pick up and you will make it through.
Sincerely,
Another College Student
